Located along the coast off the Straits of Melaka, the residents of the Kapar sub-district experiences large-scale flooding due to a combination of high coastal tides and heavy rainfall.  A bund has been constructed along the main river of Sg. Kapar Besar, but in past years there have been cases of river overtopping and/or bund failure.
