Community Workshops are knowledge-sharing and educational sessions aimed at the general public within the 4 project areas.  The modules within the workshops are presented by the Community Leaders and Local Champions who in turn were trained by the Master Trainers.

Two community workshops were carried out in the Kapar and Ulu Klang project areas, while the community workshops for the Batu 14 and Kg. Sungai Serai areas were conducted at a later time during the town watching sessions.

The training format follows the same modules and activities as covered in the TOT sessions for the Community Trainers, although the manner of presentation and delivery were made more friendly and understandable to a general audience.  Although the content of the modules remained the same, the titles of the modules were simplified: (1) Module 1 was retitled as Why Do We Need CBDRR, (2) Module 2 as Understanding Hazards and Risks in Our Community (Module 2), and (3) Module 3 as What’s Next: Planning & Taking Action.

And as with the Community Trainer sessions, hands-on exercises such as the Disaster Timeline and Problem Analysis as well as the group discussions were carried out.
